MNF:What do you like about St. Patricks Day?

Idependent, motivated, and passionate is how I would describe myself. I have a big heart, big dreams, and the confidence to acheive anything I set my mind to. Born and raised in New Richmond, WI , my parents gave me every opportunity to explore the things that I love and the encouragement to be my own person and take risks when others doubted me. In my short 23 years, I have accomplished and experienced many things and I am quite proud of who I have become, and even more excited for my future!
I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing. Throughout college I was able to continue my passion for dance which I started at the age of 3. I was part of the Concert Dance company in which I was also able to choreograph for. As much as I loved school in Eau Claire, my heart has always been in the city! Growing up in near the twin cities gave me so many opportunities to enjoy what Minnesota has to offer. I moved to St. Paul in the summer of '08 to continue my work doing promotional events, spokesmodeling, and work with local photographers to create a modeling portfolio. I will most likely be spending a lot of the time in the twin cities for the rest of the year working and enjoying time spent with my incredible friends!
I'm not sure at this time where life will take me, my goal right now is to be hired as a tour manager for a mobile marketing tour so that I can travel and work with all expenses paid, network, and enjoy life without anything holding me back! Until then, be sure to say hello when you see me out with the girls!

MNF: What do you usually do to celebrate St. Patricks Day?
Kirsten: Honestly, I don't have a stitch of Irish in me :) However, I'll never turn down an excuse to celebrate!! The last few years while I was in college our Spring Break always fell on St.Patricks day, so my friends and I did our best to wear green, drink green, and kiss someone Irish (well, at least someone who claimed to be Irish)!
MNF: How do you plan to spend St. Patricks day this year?
Kirsten: I will be sporting one of the green bikinis I wore for the shoot in Panama City Beach! I'll be in Panama City for the whole month of March working to promote LG phones to Spring Breakers. Nice gig huh?!?
MNF: What did you think of your Minnesota's Finest Photoshoot.
Kirsten: I had such a blast once it got started! Unfortunately I was super late because I got lost and nothing frustrates me more than being late. Sorry guys! Everyone was incredible, creative, and easy to work with. I left feeling really good about the shoot and look forward to seeing everyone again!
MNF: Give us the details about your Minnesota's Finest Calendar shoot. How was it working with Ray from KQRS at Keirans Pub?
Kirsten: Yes, the shoot took place at Kierans Pub downtown which was great! Jeanie did a excellent job of decorating for a St.Patricks Day theme and everyone was very helpful and made me feel very comfortable. This was the first time that I had done a bikini shoot, so it was kind of strange being the only one walking around in a bikini while everyone else was dressed for the freezing winter weather. Ray from KQRS made the experience so much fun and more relaxing. I had to try really hard to keep myself from burting out in laughter. I was supposed to be posing and looking sexy and model-like while he was making silly faces and doing strange things in the background, it was hilarious. He was so great to work with and I can't wait to see how the shots turned out!
MNF: So how did you get into modeling?
Kirsten: Modeling has ALWAYS been something I wanted to do ever since I was really little. My mother is a professional photographer so I've basically grown up in front of the camera. I took acting classes from 1st-8th grade which included some modeling classes. The modeling class brought us to the twin cities to get set up with a local agency there. I was hired to do some print work and went to tons of auditions but since I was young my parents had to get out of work to drive me to all these auditions so it didn't last very long. Once in college modeling continued to be in the back of mind. I dreamed of working with photographers, stylists, and makeup artists to create awesome images. I studied ads in magazines and really got into fashion. Unfortunately, I never really considered modeling an option because of my 5'4 frame and unperfect proportions. When I moved to St.Paul last summer, I figured why not give it a shot? I may not be Americas Next Top Model material, but its something I'd love to do so I'll give it one more chance. I was able to work with a handfull of great photographers and get some really great shots for my portfolio. I'm definitely still learning but I'm really proud of myself for going for it. I'm having so much fun and love the creativity involved with modeling.
MNF: How did you hear about Minnesota's Finest?
Kirsten: Jeanie contacted me on Model Mayhem back in October to do the calendar and I was absolutely thrilled, unfortunately I wasn't able to make it on that particular date so I had to turn it down and I was really dissapointed. Luckily, I got another message from her in December saying they still had a few months left to shoot and they'd love to have me! So of course I said yes and I'm so glad to have had the opportunity. Thanks Jeanie!!
MNF: What are some of your favorite things about the modeling industry?
Kirsten: The creativity, you never know how the photos are going to turn out and its so much fun to discuss concepts with the photographer and make it happen. Of course its also great to work with makeup artists and hairstylists, they create magic and what girl doesn't love that? My favorite is to go through the drive through on my way home after having some really crazy hair or makeup done... just to see their reaction as they hand me the food.
MNF: Green beer is a typical Saint Patricks day drink, have you ever tried it?
Kirsten: Of course! I actually love beer... beer and hot wings :) haha
MNF: What is your all time favorite drink?
Kirsten: Stoli Vanilla with Sprite, it tastes like cream soda! Mmmm.
MNF: What is your favorite way to spend your free time when you aren't busy modeling?
Kirsten: It may sound crazy but I LOVE to work out. My mom and I motivate each other and make it to the gym at least 5 days a week for a couple hours and on top of that I love to do workout videos at home. It just feels so good to be healthy and take care of myself. I know that once I have a full time job and I'm really busy I probably wont be able to do that for myself so right now I'm loving it! Oh yes... and I'm quite addicted to ebay :)
MNF: Is there something unique you would like to let us know about yourself?
Kirsten: I'm single!! For the first time in 8 years!! Haha

KQRS DJ
Ray: I grew up listening to Twin Cities radio, and always wanted to land at
KQ. After stints at a few other stations, I lucked out!
MNF: How did you get started working in radio at KQRS?
MNF: Whats your favorite thing about work as a dj?xt.
Ray: The best thing for me about my job is being invited to join thousands of
people to do whatever it is they're doing. The listeners are living their lives, and they take me along.
Ray: St. Patricks Day is another reason to have fun in groups.
MNF: What's your favorite kind of beer?
MNF: Do you have any connection to any Irish in Minnesota?
Ray: I know a lot of beer drinkers.
MNF: What do you think St. Patricks Day is about?
Ray: It's pretty much about drinking and eating. I looked it up.
MNF: If you could add anything to the holiday to improve it, what would it be?
Ray: Local pubs should import an Irish staff for the day. I'd like to order up a pint from an Irish bartender, then have a conversation with him/herabout...whatever.
MNF: How did you get invoved with the Minnesota's Finest Calendar?
Ray: I was invited to wear the green.
MNF: Had you heard about MNFinest before you did the shoot?
Ray: Yes! Finest is right.
MNF: What did you think about your shoot with MNFinest?
Ray: Had a blast. Check the photos. :)
MNF: What is unique about you?
Ray:The unique thing about me is my heritage. I'm half Austrian and half Chippewa.
MNF: Is there anything else you'd like us to know?
Ray: I'm into cars and cycles, so I'll see you on-the-road this summer!
